What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device. We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functions and, with your consent, to understand how the site is used.
Your consent
In line with UK GDPR and PECR, we only set non-essential cookies after you agree to them. When you first visit, a banner asks you to choose which categories to accept or reject. We use Google Consent Mode, so analytics tags stay in a restricted state that does not read or write cookies until you consent. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer.
Strictly necessary
These keep the site working and remember your choices. They cannot be switched off.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
d5cmp_consent | d5cmp | Stores your consent preferences. | 12 months |
d5cmp_uid | d5cmp | Anonymous identifier linking your consent record. Does not identify you. | 24 months |
lbd_pref | Little Barn Door | Remembers whether you’ve dismissed or subscribed to our newsletter prompt so it isn’t shown again. First-party; stores no personal data. | 30–400 days |
Analytics
These help us understand which pages people visit and where they get stuck. They are only set after you accept analytics cookies. We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes unique visitors. | 13 months |
_ga_* | Google Analytics 4 | Maintains session state for analytics. | 13 months |
Managing cookies
Use the Cookie settings link in the footer to review or change your consent at any time. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings; doing so won’t break the site but may reset preferences you’ve saved.

For how we handle personal data more broadly, see our Privacy Policy.
